Mohawk expands in Mexico with SITI B&T Group technology

Mohawk Industries, the world leader in the surface coverings segment with ceramic segment revenues of US $3 billion in 2015 and an output of around 225 million sq.m, has chosen SITI B&T Group technologies for the new Daltile factory in Mexico.

The facility will be equipped with a high-productivity, energy-saving raw materials preparation department consisting of an SD spray dryer (one of the largest in Mexico) and continuous modular mills with inverter-controlled differential speed. As part of its major focus on energy efficiency, Daltile has adopted cutting-edge Titanium® technologies for the firing department, consisting of three MHR 230° kilns with hot air recovery systems capable of reducing consumption by 30% and emissions by 25%.

The plant also features a Dry Squaring Speed line and the Deepmotor Cut score-and-snap machine from Ancora, a company that joined SITI B&T Group in 2015 and reported 20% growth in sales in 2016.
