Overproduction in Vietnam
A similar increase was reported for the sanitaryware industry, which the VCPCA’s preliminary figures put at close to 7 million pieces.
Domestic demand is much lower, 120 million square metres of tiles and 4 million pieces of sanitaryware, prompting the association to ask the government to temporarily halt all kinds of support for the ceramic industry.
The difference between national production and domestic consumption is not compensated by exports, which account for just 10% of Vietnamese production.
