Argenta Group acquires majority stake in Mercury Cerámica
The Spanish ceramic group has acquired a majority interest in the Onda-based company specialising in small-size tiles.
At the end of June, the Argenta Group – one of Spain’s leading ceramic tile producers – acquired a majority stake in Mercury Cerámica, a family-run company based in Onda (Castellón) with more than 30 years’ experience in the production of small-format floor and wall tiles.
The transaction forms part of the Group’s growth strategy and further consolidates its position as one of the main players in the European ceramic sector by expanding its already extensive range of small-format products. With its brands Argenta Cerámica, Cifre Cerámica, Azuvi and Zenon, the Argenta Group offers one of the broadest and most versatile catalogues on the market, combining contemporary design, aesthetic research and high quality. In particular, the acquisition of Mercury Cerámica will strengthen Cifre Cerámica’s Brick&More brand, already well established in key markets such as Germany, France, the UK, the United States, Italy and Spain. This new synergy will boost the Group’s production capacity and strengthen its international footprint.
The integration of Mercury will give Argenta greater operational autonomy, expand its range of high value-added lines and diversify its industrial base, while safeguarding the continuity of a highly specialised facility.
The integration process will be gradual, ensuring operational stability and job security, and will be accompanied by the development of new product lines and further investment in innovation and sustainability.
