Collectio continues its success in Bangkok
Around 250 delegates from ceramic companies across the Far East took part in two days of conferences and networking activities organised by Colorobbia.
On 17 and 18 July, the Thai capital Bangkok hosted the third edition of Collectio, the two-day event organised each year by Colorobbia in a different country in the Far East. Over the years, this exclusive event has become a unique opportunity for local ceramic manufacturers and other supply chain players to explore the latest Italian innovations in products, technologies, applications, design and trends.
Following the success of the events organised by the largest Italian frit and glaze producer in Vietnam in 2023 and in Indonesia in 2024, this year’s edition held in the St. Regis Hotel in Bangkok exceeded expectations and was attended by around 250 guests, including more than 220 owners and top managers of leading ceramic companies. In addition to Thailand, participants also came from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, Nepal, Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Italy.
This exceptionally high turnout testifies to the enormous appeal of a unique event that stands out as the most important international event dedicated to Made in Italy ceramics. Many of the participants pre-registered immediately for the 2026 edition, the venue of which will be announced soon.
“Collectio once again proves to be the only global ceramic event capable of integrating, within an exclusive format, the best Italian excellences – carefully selected in a maximum number of 20 partners – with more than 220 representatives from leading Asian companies, including owners, directors and top managers, creating a highly specialized environment and strategic networking opportunities,” said Elia Bitossi, Managing Director of Colorobbia.
Where ceramics meets the future
Entitled “Beyond the Surface: Where Ceramics Meets the Future”, Collectio 2025 brought together around twenty Italian companies alongside Colorobbia, selected from among leading suppliers of machinery and materials: Industrie Bitossi, Sacmi, Air Power, Cimes, Durst, Gruppo B&T, Intesa, Inter Ser, Lamberti, Poppi Clementino, Projecta, SMAC, Smaltochimica, System Ceramics, Tecnoferrari, Tecno Diamant, Z&S Ceramco. To further strengthen the value and appeal of the event, Collectio also partnered with five outstanding design studios – Digital Design, Fabbrica del Sale, Inkside, Nitida, Origostyle – some of which have operational offices in Asia.
Organised in collaboration with Colorobbia Thailand, which has been operating in Saraburi since 1989, the event alternated plenary sessions with technical presentations, working lunches and one-to-one meetings between speakers and delegates.
The opening talk, “Large-format slabs, a global contest” by José Luis Ramon (Global Advisor, Colorobbia), was well received and offered a broad discussion of design, branding and product development, with a focus on the evolution of large-format tiles and slabs and their use for countertops and façades.
“In this edition – emphasized Elia Bitossi – Collectio placed a total focus on technology, providing an in-depth presentation of all the innovations and qualities of the leading companies from the Italian ceramic district, while also exploring the latest aesthetic trends thanks to the presence of top graphic studios, and offering an unparalleled networking platform of valuable relationships. Technology, research, and design were therefore at the heart of what Colorobbia organized and promoted, with the aim of fostering conscious investments geared towards an inspiring, sustainable, and high-level future. The axis between Made in Italy and Southeast Asia once again proved receptive and oriented toward the evolution of relations between the parties. Even in today’s challenging environment, Colorobbia had the audacity to believe in an ambitious project, structured and refined in every detail.”
Arteology: tradition and innovation on display
The event also featured an exhibition of works from the Arteology collection, Colorobbia’s new project combining centuries-old ceramic traditions inspired by the Bitossi ceramic archive (Colorobbia Group’s artistic heritage) with the ongoing technological innovation that guides the company’s work. This journey through art and research attracted strong interest from participants.
The two-day event in Thailand concluded with a gala evening and customer awards ceremony, which included several trips to Italy among the prizes, further consolidating the event’s spirit of collaboration and exchange. During the evening, Colorobbia also announced a donation to the Thai Red Cross Society in support of the communities affected by the April 2025 earthquake in Thailand and Myanmar.
More natural and distinctive surfaces
Colorobbia’s two technical presentations given at Collectio 2025 highlighted the sheer breadth of its portfolio of products designed to create high-quality surfaces that closely resemble natural materials and stand out in the market.
On the theme of three-dimensional surfaces achieved through digital applications, Paolo Monari presented the Forma product family (Graffiti inks, digital glues and grits and water-based digital glazes), explaining how they can be used in combination before and after decoration to enhance the layered material effects (the Forma Premium concept). An even more realistic look can be achieved through the application of different Digital TopCoats as part of the Hybrid Digital approach.
Davide Labate introduced the C-Ready range, a series of customised products designed to optimise both aesthetics and performance: Brilliant for elegance, C-Glow for stability and versatility, and Microtech for natural appeal and technical characteristics.
Thanks to a complete range of solutions, extensive global technical support, and technological know-how developed over more than a century of activity, Colorobbia confirms its role as the ideal partner for companies seeking to create high value-added surfaces. The Group is present with its own operational offices in all the world’s most important ceramic markets, ensuring international coverage that enables a personalized approach to every customer. Recently, in addition to its already established offices in the major Asian markets, new branches have also been opened in Malaysia and Bangladesh.
