Sicer Group strengthens its ESG commitment
Sicer Italia has signed up to the Responsible Care® programme. In India, the group has set up a school for local employees’ children.
The Sicer Group, a leading manufacturer of vitrified and decorative ceramic materials, has taken two concrete steps toward a more responsible and sustainable development model. In Italy, Sicer has officially joined the Responsible Care® programme, while in India the group has launched the “Play School” project at its local facility.
Signing up to Responsible Care®, an initiative promoted by Federchimica in Italy and by Cefic at a European level, reaffirms the group’s commitment to integrating environmental and social sustainability into its production processes and corporate strategy. The global programme includes over 10,000 chemical companies in more than 70 countries, all dedicated to continuous improvement in environmental protection, health, safety and social responsibility. Through Responsible Care®, Sicer is committed to safeguarding health, safety and the environment across the entire product lifecycle, promoting responsible conduct toward employees, customers, suppliers and local communities and engaging in transparent dialogue with all stakeholders. It is a decisive step toward a more ethical and sustainable industrial culture.
In India, the Italian group has opened an in-house school for employees’ children, an initiative that clearly reflects its ESG values. In this project, called “Play School”, Sicer focuses on people by investing in the well-being of families, expanding access to education and recognising the contribution of those who are part of the company’s daily life.
