Stephan Schmidt Group makes new acquisition

Stephan Schmidt Group acquires Saarfeldspatwerke H. Huppert GmbH & Co. KG.

The Stephan Schmidt Group recently completed the acquisition of Saarfeldspatwerke H. Huppert, a German feldspar producer based in Oberthal in the Saarland region. The scope of the acquisition, effective as of 22 April, includes an open-cast feldspar mine, a modern grinding and processing plant, an in-house laboratory and extensive storage capabilities. The company employs around 20 people and mainly supplies the ceramics industry, with prospects for growth beyond its traditional applications.

This important strategic step enables the Stephan Schmidt Group to add feldspar to its product portfolio while opening up new sales markets. At the same time, notes the group’s CEO Stephan Schmidt, the acquisition
