Mohawk Industries, SCG and Lamosa lead once again the rankings. Victoria PLC is the new entry among the big names. For most of the big groups the outlook for 2020 is not overly pessimistic, with declines below -10% and even some players anticipating growth.
The Italian group (in the USA with Florida Tile) is confident that their US Business Unit will see moderate growth this year after a disappointing 2018.
Net sales grew to 10 billion dollars (+5%), total investments tot up 1.5 billion dollars. The Global Ceramic Division registered a 4% growth in sales to 3.55 billion dollars.
Total net sales grew by 5.9% to $9.5 billion. Sales of the Global Ceramics Division grew to $3.405 billion in 2017 (+7%), equivalent to 36% of the group’s net sales.
Mohawk Industries (USA), SCG (Thailand) and Lamosa (Mexico) lead once again the rankings. Good results were also posted by Vitromex (Mexico), Pamesa and STN (Spain), Kajaria (India) and Arwana Citramulia (Indonesia).
Mohawk Industries’s record figures for 2016 results includes sales of $9.0 billion, operating income of $1.3 billion and EBITDA of $1.7 billion. Q1 2017 showed a further growth, with net sales up 2%.
The agreement for the acquisition of the historic Fiorano Modenese-based ceramic company was signed on 20 January and will be finalised following approval from the Antitrust Authorities.
For the new Daltile factory in Mexico SITI B&T will supply a spray dryer, mills and high-energy efficiency Titanium kilns, as well as an Ancora finishing line.
The company from Fiorano will supply six new glazing lines complete with accessories and electrical system to the new Dal Tile facility in Dickson, Tennessee (USA).
