Lema

The multi-size soft-transfer mould with special fast-changing liners developed by Lema (Albavilla, province of Como, Italy) features four technological innovations: soft transfer by special springs, fast and simple changing for multi-sizes, a new shape and material for liners, and innovative isostatic punches. In detail, the machine's characteristics are:

- Eight springs with proportional elastic response for powder transfer.
- The mould can be used with Lema designed isostatic punches. These punches can be used to obtain large sizes with surface veins and uniform pressing. The Lema positive and negative distributed compensation system eliminates the transparency defect caused by excessively concentrated compensation.
- Fast size changeover is achieved by replacement of the pre-assembled liners in a suitable shape to obtain the required size. They are mounted and removed by means of hex head bolts that can be fastened with a pneumatic jack.

One of the main advantages of Lema moulds is their ease of maintenance as the special spring elements are fixed to the upper punches.
They can be replaced with the mould mounted on the press without the need to undo bolts and without disassembling mould parts, unlike hydraulic cylinders which have to be dismantled resulting in oil leakage and O-ring replacement.
The mould can mount rubber or resin isostatic punches.
It is equipped with reduced section liners made of metallic matrix composite surfaced with hard metallic material with controlled particle size plus steel alloy.
These liners have a considerably longer lifetime than those made of hardened steel.
