Acimac organises conference entitled "A systemic approach in the ceramic

07/06/04 - What forms of systemic cooperation could help the three components of the ceramic production chain – glaze manufacturers, technology suppliers and tile producers – to maintain and improve their high levels of competitiveness in the future?

This is the question that will be addressed at the conference entitled “A systemic approach in the ceramic sector”, organised by Acimac and to be held on Friday 11 June at 2.45 p.m. in Palazzo Astoria in Fiorano Modenese.

The theme will be discussed by representatives of the sector’s three trade associations: Acimac, Assopiastrelle and Ceramicolor.

After two introductory addresses on the growth of world tile production and the sector’s real potential to adopt a systemic approach, the core of the conference will consist of three roundtable discussions attended by important figures in the industry.

They will be led by political analyst Edmondo Berselli, director of the magazine Il Mulino and columnist in the La Repubblica newspaper and Espresso weekly magazine.

The roundtable discussions will address the following themes:

· a systemic approach to research, innovation and training

· a systemic approach to industrial policy and internationalisation

· a systemic approach within the cluster structure.

Acimac director Paolo Gambuli commented: “We hope that next Friday’s conference will lay the foundations for a new approach and a new form of interaction between all players in the production chain with a view to working together more effectively.

Acimac will be officially presenting three concrete policy proposals, which without claiming to solve all the sector’s problems may constitute a first step towards greater cooperation and joint action.”
