Arteology by Colorobbia: where tradition meets innovation
The project by Colorobbia combines art and technology. The collection is on display in the showroom in Fiorano Modenese.
Arteology can be considered the mirror of Colorobbia’s creative and technological vision. More than any other project, it embodies what the colour specialist stands for today: a bridge between a century-old ceramic tradition and the continuous innovation that guides its work.
Arteology was born from the desire to explore new possibilities, transforming matter into surfaces that inspire and enhance every project. It is the result of collaboration between master craftsmen and highly qualified technicians at the Colorobbia workshop in Fiorano Modenese, where the collection is now on display in an immersive installation.
Arteology draws inspiration from the extraordinary artistic heritage of Manifattura Bitossi, an icon of Italian ceramic design. This dialogue between history and innovation – based on a fusion of art and technology – has guided Colorobbia in the creation of unique surfaces capable of uniting traditional craftsmanship and contemporary experimentation. Each piece tells a story of glossy and matt grits, digitally applied glazes and three-dimensional effects that transform ceramic into a visual and tactile experience. The inspiration lies in the colours, shapes and tones that made the products from Bitossi Ceramiche famous, now reimagined using the most advanced production technologies.
At the heart of this creative process is the Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation, an extraordinary example of an industrial archive devoted to preserving the forms, colours and techniques that have defined ceramic design. With more than 7,000 pieces, prototypes and documents, the Foundation’s archive offers a comprehensive picture of Italian culture, a journey between past and future in which matter is transformed into surface while preserving the expressive depth of Italy’s unique ceramic tradition.
