Emilceramica starts up factory in Ukraine
The facility is owned by a new company called Zeus Ceramica which was set up in 2003 as a joint venture between the Italian group and the Ukrainian mining company Yug.
The factory is located in the Slov’jansk region and extends over a surface area of 15,000 sq.m. It comprises two complete lines expected to attain an output of 2 million sq.m in this first year of operation, subsequently reaching 4 million sq.m of through bodied porcelain tile in 2006.
The plants feature the latest technologies and have been built with particular emphasis on environmental issues. The factory is equipped with a system of filters capable of reducing harmful emissions and an industrial water treatment, purification and recycling plant which allows 100% of water to be reused in the production process.
Zeus Ceramica was set up with the ambitious aim of becoming one of the most important ceramic companies in Eastern Europe, capable of offering personalised support to its customers. The company also has a dedicated railway line which allows products to be loaded directly in the factory.
