Imerys opens new research centre

14/03/07 - The Imerys Group recently opened its newly created Ceramic Centre at E.S.T.E.R. (Espace Scientifique et Technologique d'Echange et de Recherche) in Limoges, France, close to the existing European Ceramic Centre which brings together the various players in the industry, from research centres and universities to private companies and professional associations.
Through the new centre, the Imerys Group intends to increase innovation and research applied to its products.
The new Ceramic Centre's tasks will include coordinating the resources used in the Group's various branches and divisions in the fields of marketing and geological studies and analysing the characteristics of all the minerals used in ceramic production.

The research facility will be headed by Alexandre Sevagen and will consist of a team of 10-12 experienced professionals from Imerys subsidiaries in South America, Asia, UK, Germany and France. The Group is also actively seeking specialists in the fields of mineralogy, rheology and fired minerals.
