LB’s Migratech line begins operation at Italpisos

The Ecuadorian ceramic manufacturer has adopted dry body preparation technology from LB.

Italpisos, a leading Ecuadorian tile manufacturer belonging to the Eljuri Group, has started up an innovative Migratech dry body preparation line supplied by LB. Designed for production capacities of up to 30 tonnes per hour, the line will enable Italpisos to produce single-fired tiles in sizes up to 60x60 cm, achieving cost savings of more than 50% while maintaining high aesthetic quality of finished products.

The Migratech line installed at Italpisos consists of an MRV vertical roller mill and a GRC 900 granulator complete with a fluidised bed dryer, ensuring total granulation of the mix with a particle size comparable to that of spray-dried material.

This groundbreaking technology not only saves substantial quantities of water but also brings major energy savings thanks to lower gas consumption.
