How to write a machinery use and maintenance manual

15/10/03 -As part of its technical training activities for member companies, Acimac (Italian Ceramic Plant and Machinery Manufacturers' Association) has organised a seminar entitled "The machinery use and maintenance manual: legal obligations, drafting and operational management". The course will be held on Tuesday 21 October in the Conference Hall of the Hotel Executive in Fiorano (Modena) from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The aim of the seminar, held by Gino Zampieri from the AC&E firm of consultants of Verona, which has specialised for years in certification of plant and machinery, is to outline the best procedures for drafting a use and maintenance manual that entirely fulfils normative obligations without becoming pointlessly time-wasting and expensive.

The drafting of the machinery use and maintenance manual (required by Directive 98/37/EEC, the so-called Machinery Directive) is a highly topical issue. The manual is an important tool for safeguarding supplier companies against disputes concerning safety measures and procedures for machinery. The manual is also an important reference tool for customer companies and contains all the instructions needed for correct use of machinery.
