Leading experts in the ceramic tableware industry meet with Sama and Riedhamme

07/07/03 - Internationally renowned personalities and experts in the ceramic tableware industry will be meeting on 15 September in Paulaner am Nockherberg in Munich for a conference entitled "Tableware: trends in the international market and new technologies". The meeting, organised by SAMA and Riedhammer (respectively controlled and associated companies in the Sacmi Whiteware Group) on the eve of the international exhibition Ceramitec (Munich, 16-20 September), will discuss the scenarios and future prospects of a sector that is undergoing rapid, complex development.

A wide range of different themes will be addressed.
Ralf Kuhn (board member and engineering director at Rosenthal AG) will discuss "Innovative production technologies for the tableware industry". Jerome Fady (vice president of Imerys Tableware Paris division) will explain "How raw materials and mixes can help tableware manufacturers".
Roman Lackner (sales manager at Saint-Gobain Industrie Keramik in Rodental) will speak about "New developments in high-efficiency refractory materials and their applications".

The discussion will be moderated by Karin Scharrer, chief editor of the magazine "Ceramic Forum International".
Other people attending will include Peter Thipthorp (chief editor of the magazine "Tableware International") with a talk on "Trends in the international tableware market" and Joachim Uebel (general manager of the Ceramic Institute in Meissen) who will discuss "Further developments in the production of fine porcelain".
The closing speech will be given by Eugenio Ferragina (Managing Director of Sacmi Whiteware) who will talk about "Industrial strategies aimed at research & development and support of ceramic producing districts".

Sacmi Whiteware's participation at Ceramitec will be particularly important this year.
Sacmi Whiteware is the overall leader in the international sanitaryware and tableware machinery market; SAMA is an international leader in machines for casting and glazing tableware; and Riedhammer, in which the Sacmi group has held a 30% share since January of this year, is the largest manufacturer in the world of kilns for sanitaryware and tableware.
