Made Expo: what future for Cityfutures?

What will the cities of the future look like? This seemingly simple question underpins complex issues that require in-depth debate. We need ideas, a long-term vision, adequate projects and tools, alternative technologies and design. All of this will be discussed at the international conference called Cityfutures, to be held on 4 and 5 February during MadeExpo.

Organised by the Italian Architecture Technology Society (SITdA), the event will bring together a select group of experts and scientists from all over the world, who during the three sessions of the conference will present the results of studies of mobility, energy, pathology of urban climates along with various urban development models within the socio-economic and geographical contexts of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and South and North America. In particular the event will seek to highlight the responsibility and commitment in terms of design of the primary, secondary and tertiary building industries.

Cityfutures aims to make an objective contribution to the efforts that the city of Milan is devoting to Expo 2015 and with this objective intends to look to the future by launching awards for initiatives and projects as well as study grants for young researchers in critical fields.
