New event SaieSpring 2008 launched

The first edition of SaieSpring 2008, Exhibition of interior finishings, door and window frames and production technologies, will be held in the Bologna exhibition centre from 12 to 15 March.

The show will also be an opportunity to promote the prestige and image of Italian ceramic tiles through the Confindustria Ceramica "Ceramiche Italiane" stand designed by architect Dante Donegani, which will display the latest cutting-edge products in terms of design, construction technologies and aesthetic research.

The Saie Spring programme of initiatives and events also includes: the exhibition New Stone Age Design devoted to the use of stone in new living spaces; WinDoor Concept Store, for the world of door and window showrooms; Next Trade, an exhibition of finishings for futuristic architecture; the CET space, reserved for automations and locking systems; "Building innovation: research and innovation in culture", an exhibition coordinated by architect Fabrizio Bianchetti devoted to the role of research and innovation as the drivers behind new technological and aesthetic innovations for building envelope systems.

Through the cooperation of the engineering firm ARUP, two large-scale works will be featured during the event, the Florence high-speed rail station and the CMA-CGM offices in Marseilles.
SaieSpring will be complemented by the international event Progetti & Paesaggi, an innovative show format for the design of exterior spaces in the broadest sense - city and countryside, nature and technology, domestic interior/exterior, garden/vegetable garden/park - and featuring five projects: Hotel-In&Out, by Giulio Cappellini; Waterfront, focusing on port cities; The vegetable garden city - Rural landscapes, by Cibic Workshop; The Vertical Forest, by Stefano Boeri; Places and non-Places, by Studio Topotek.
