G.O.D. – Glaze On Demand: the revolution in automated intralogistics for glazes and engobes

Developed by I-Tech and promoted worldwide by Inter Ser, this cutting edge technology automates the intralogistics transfer of glazes, engobes and auxiliary products, from preparation to application on glazing lines.

In the ceramic industry, efficiency and process integration are critical drivers of competitiveness. G.O.D. – Glaze On Demand, a technology developed by I-Tech and promoted worldwide by Inter Ser, is a cutting-edge solution for automated management of the intralogistics transfer of glazes, engobes and auxiliary products, from preparation to application on glazing lines.

Automation and interconnection: From preparation to application, G.O.D. eliminates the need for manual intervention in all transfer operations. It can operate as a stand‑alone system or be integrated with Colorhere® and the Colormix system to manage the entire preparation phase, from semi‑finished formulations to fully prepared, coloured glazes ready for use. Already adopted by leading ceramic manufacturers worldwide, G.O.D. is recognised for its reliability, efficiency and advanced automation in handling glazing materials.

Analysis and optimisation: I‑Tech engineers have conducted an in‑depth analysis of ceramic production flows, identifying inefficiencies linked to material waste, downtime, bottlenecks and operational overloads. The result is an integrated, modular system designed to maximise productivity and precision while reducing errors and transition times. Bypass operations or product changeovers to be sent to the lines are no longer left to the operator’s manual intervention.

How G.O.D. works: The system automatically transfers glazes and engobes from the preparation areas to points of use in two ways:

  • On‑demand (pull logic), activated at the operator’s request;
  • Automatic, when integrated with systems such as I‑Glaze, which monitor requirements in real time.

Transfers are carried out via overhead pipes and peristaltic pumps, ensuring speed, safety and zero contamination. Product selection at dispensing points is handled via an intuitive interface, compatible with any ERP or MES platform.

Monitoring, control and traceability: G.O.D. is equipped with sensors and transducers that continuously monitor the quantity and density of transferred products. When integrated with the I‑GLAZE module, the system can automatically adjust density to ensure consistent quality and uniformity.

Self‑cleaning and product safety: All pipes are automatically washed at the end of the cycle to prevent cross‑contamination. Fully compliant with LEAN principles and Industry 4.0 requirements, the system ensures traceability, digital interconnection and optimal use of resources.

Custom engineering and solutions: Every G.O.D. installation is tailored to the factory layout and specific customer needs, with the aim of improving efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing the final quality of ceramic products. The implementation of the G.O.D. system enables production with colored glazes and minimal batch sizes, eliminating waste and workload peaks in the glaze preparation department.

The L.I.M.E.s® management software: The real value of G.O.D. and Colorhere lies in their proprietary management software, L.I.M.E.s® (Lean Industry Manufacturing Execution Software), developed in‑house by I‑Tech. As well as providing a complete overview of the plant, L.I.M.E.s® processes KPIs in real time and applies machine learning to the production process, helping operators achieve continuous improvement and optimised performance.
