Alfonso Marra elected chairman of FEPA

15/07/05 – Alfonso Marra is the new chairman of FEPA, the Federation of European Producers of Abrasives.
Marra, executive vice chairman of the Tyrolit Group, takes over from Gianni Scotti, general manager of Saint-Gobain Italia and chairman of the Abrasives Group of Federceramica.
Klaus Toeller (Klingspor), chairman of the German association VDS, has been elected vice chairman.

The new chairman commented, “The objective of the new team at the head of FEPA is to develop the image of the FEPA network, which comprises a central office in Paris and National Associations and individual member companies in 17 countries. Its aim is to have a single, coordinated image to assure greater impact for the Federation’s mission: quality abrasives for user safety”.

FEPA comprises 14 national trade associations including the Italian association Federceramica (affiliated to Federchimica), which represents Italian producers of bonded abrasives, coated abrasives and grains.
FEPA represents a total of 230 companies in 17 different European countries with about 23,000 employees. The European abrasives market is estimated at 3 billion euro (2004).
