Caesar Ceramiche holds creativity contest

Tile to play, the creativity contest organised by Caesar Ceramiche for architects, designers, visual makers and visual artists, ended on 14 October with the presentation of three cash prizes and 2 special mentions.
The theme of the initiative was to tell a story relating to tiles using contemporary visual art tools (digital animation, video, slides and photographs) with the objective of creating a dialogue between industry and ideas.
The project saw the participation of schools and universities, the ADI (Italian Design Institute) and the World Design Capital of Turin.
"The aim of this creativity contest is to foster a renewed ability to see and feel while giving the industry a new role as a producer not only of materials but also of ideas," commented Caesar's managing director Adolfo Tandredi.

The award ceremony took place in the Magna Pars conference centre in the Via Tortona area of Milan. First prize went to architect Silvia Montemitro and to Antonio Ghiotto, artist, sculptor and theatre stage designer, while painting performer Giuseppe Ragazzini won second prize and web designer Massimo Araldi third.

The next edition of the competition will focus on the creation of a virtual Tile-factory where tiles will be the common thread uniting the environment, city and living spaces.
