Milan Polytechnic holds course on designing temporary spaces

The course will be organised from 12 January to 6 February by the Milan Polytechnic consortium POLI. Design and is aimed at architects and designers who wish to specialise in the retail, trade fair and events design sectors.
The dramatic evolution of the changing and increasingly globalised market requires a new and more international approach to designing exhibition and display spaces. This creates the need for advanced and specific training to direct architecture towards new and more holistic and multi-sensorial scenarios.

The technical director of the course is Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis, professor at the Milan Polytechnic, who promotes the concept of temporariness of space. There already exist numerous examples of temporary commercial spaces such as shopping areas in airports and shop-in-shops. Furthermore, temporary displays held outside of permanent exhibition structures are becoming increasingly widespread in cities, calling for the acquisition of new expertise. The course also explores the theme of eco-sustainability, which is very important when structures have to be rapidly taken down and disposed of.
Along with the theory lessons, there will also be visits to particularly significant exhibition and retail projects.
