ACIMAC research Dept/MECS anticipates to Ceramic World Review the key figures of the 10th edition of the annual report “World production and consumption of ceramic tiles”. In 2021 world tile production and consumption grew by 7.2% and 6.8% respectively. World tile import-export flows saw a significant increase, up 8.7% on 2020.

Foreign investors from over 80 different countries are due to attend the world´s leading fair for technologies dedicated to the tile industry.

The world ceramic industry will meet in Rimini from 27 to 30 September. All the leading suppliers of technology, equipment and services will be participating in Tecna 2022.

The Italian machinery manufacturers’ sales grew by 39% to €2,056 million in 2021, including strong performances in both the domestic market (+31%) and exports (+42%). Acimac’s newly elected chairman Paolo Lamberti commented: “We feel very confident. 45% of our member companies are expecting further business growth this year.”

The Italian ceramic and brick machinery industry reported a 54% increase in turnover in the first half of 2021 compared to the first half of 2020 and a 12.8% increase over the same period in 2019.

Clear improvement in sales of ceramic machinery and equipment: according to the Mecs-Acimac research centre, the first quarter of 2021 closed with 33.3% growth in sales. Strong performance in both exports (+38%) and the Italian market (+27.3%)

The first signs of a recovery are emerging in 2021. Causes of concern include rising prices of raw materials, components and maritime freight transport.

Acimac Research Dept. / MECS updates the yearly analysis of the world ceramic sanitaryware imports/exports flows. In 2019 sanitaryware exports continued to rise with 4.6% growth on 2018, but with a different trend in the various geographical areas of production.

According to the preliminary figures compiled by MECS-Acimac Research Department, the sector’s year-end turnover stands at €1,470 million (15% down on 2019).

The ACIMAC Members’ Meeting unanimously elected Paolo Mongardi as the association’s new chairman for the two-year period 2020-2022. Luca Bazzani (System Ceramics), Bruno Bettelli (I-Tech) and Paolo Lamberti (Tecnografica) were elected as the three vice chairmen. Lamberti will take over as chairman from Mongardi in two years’ time.

Paolo Mongardi will be elected Chairman of Acimac during the Members’ Meeting in July. He will pass the baton to Paolo Lamberti in two years’ time as part of an alternating chairmanship that reflects the interests of both small and large member companies.
