The international brick industry event in Anderson, South Carolina, is scheduled for September 29th and 30th.

The leading U.S. brick manufacturer is completing a major revamp at its Sugarcreek (OH) plant #8 that includes the adoption of digital printing and next-generation automation.

The project includes the addition of a secondary kiln and a new manufacturing line, which will effectively double the production capacity of the Columbia plant.

Total U.S. ceramic tile consumption in 2024 was 250.9 million sq.m, down 5.1% from the previous year. Imports fell by 3.5% to 179.4 million sq.m.

In 2024 the U.S. residential construction decreased for the third consecutive year. Total new home starts were 1.36 million, down 3.9% on 2023. The outlook is negative also for the year 2025.

A new plant is due to come into operation at the site in Baxter, Tennessee this spring. It will focus on the production of large sizes and trims, products that are in strong demand in the US market.

The project began in 2022 with the installation of a new kiln and has now been completed with the start-up of the first Continua+ line, with capacity soon set to double.
