Smalticeram at Cersaie with the SJW range
These water-based digital materials create a new balance between sustainability and design.
As materials evolve, so too does the way they are formulated and applied. In a sector that is increasingly focused on sustainability, Smalticeram’s SJW water-based digital materials offer a practical solution for a more conscious and responsible ceramic manufacturing approach that combines industrial performance, design excellence and environmental responsibility.
The SJW – Digital Water Based series uses water-based digital components that significantly reduce environmental impact, improve production conditions and deliver high-level aesthetic results without compromising performance.
The current range includes matt, glossy and white ceramic glues and effects. Smalticeram began with these components because they represent the highest-volume applications and offer immediate benefits in terms of sustainability.
In the lead-up to Cersaie 2025, the SJW project fits seamlessly into the industry’s ongoing reflection on the future of ceramics. The chosen theme for the event – “Essence evolves, progress takes shape” – reflects the urgent need to strike a new balance between innovation, environmental impact and aesthetics. Smalticeram fully embraces this vision, developing solutions that transform values into concrete experience, research into materials and technology into a design language.
The Smalticeram booth at Cersaie 2025 will reflect this balance between responsibility and aesthetics, showcasing a series of surfaces and materials that express Italian identity and a continuous drive for improvement. SJW will be a key part of this narrative, a tangible example of the way that ceramics evolve while staying true to their essence. It is an integrated system that promotes responsibility without sacrificing harmony, beauty or design.
